有些酒吧是不让不足十八岁的青少年进入，免得他们可向朋友取得含有酒精饮品。若果遇有不足十八岁的青少年要入酒吧见识，招待员应如何处理？

＜问明年岁＞

招待员如怀疑顾客不足十八岁，可直接询问他的年龄：

招待员： “Excuse me. How old are you?” (抱歉，请问你今年几多岁？)

顾客： “I’m twenty .”

招待员： “You don’t look twenty to me.” (你看来不像廿岁．)

＜要求出示证件＞

如果顾客仍表示自己足龄，招待员应礼貌地要求顾客出示有效的证件来证实他的年龄。

招待员： “Can I see your ID, please?” (我可否看一看你的身份证？)

顾客： “Well, I have a charge card.” (我有一张信用卡。)

招待员： “Unfortunately that does not show your age. We only accept HKID or passport as proof of age.” (可惜那信用卡没有列明你的年龄，我们祗接受身份证或护照为有效证明文件。)

顾客： “But my friends are waiting for me inside.” (但我的朋友都在里面等我。)

招待员： “I’m sorry.” (对不起。)

＜表明立场＞

酒吧售酒给未满十八岁的顾客，有可能随时被捡控。

(1)      如果顾客对未能入酒吧感到不满，招待员要向他解释不能让他进入酒吧的原因：

“We can be prosecuted if we serve alcohol to anyone under eighteen. I need proof that you’re over eighteen before I can let you in. You don’t look over the age of eighteen to me.” (如果我们提供含有酒精饮品给不足十八岁的人士，我们会被检控。所以我需要证明你已足十八岁，才可以让你入内，但你看来不像足十八岁．)

(2)      若顾客仍不肯放弃，招待员便需表明立场：“I’m sorry, you don’t have any ID to prove that.” (对不起，你没有任何有效的证件来证明你足十八岁。)
